Emilia Perri

biography

Emilia Perri graduated with Honours from the Ontario College of Art in 1984, where she was awarded the 4th year W.O. Forsyth Award for Excellence in Painting.

Perri paints intuitively, building up layers of paint to create vibrant, large-scale, expressive abstract paintings. Her work are representations of landscapes and structures from nature – always a connection to nature. Emilia’s paintings are inspired by her travels, including a 375 km canoe trip on the Yukon River made possible by the Reed T. Cooper Bursary in Visual Arts Award in 2016.  Emilia Perri is the recipient of the Orangeville Arts & Culture Award for Established Artist of the Year – 2021.

Originally from Toronto, Emilia now calls Hockley Valley her home. She has 3 children who are also all artists in film, music, and visual art.
