John MJ Farrugia
biography
John MJ Farrugia is a professional sculptor working in his foundry in Mono, Ontario. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in bronze sculptures using the lost wax casting method as well as unique wooden wall sculptures crafted from eastern white cedar.
Farrugia earned his PhD in Sculpture and Art History from the University of Edinburgh where he revitalized the Casting Arts program. He has also taught at the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica, where he helped rejuvenate the bronze sculpture program and serves as an Artist in Residence.
His work can be found in private collections, government bodies and corporations. John has been commissioned to create public artworks, monuments and sculptures. He is involved in every step of the artistic process to execute unique sculptural works of art from concept to completion, including installation.
John is currently taking commissions.
